Feng Shui 2008
Come 7th of February 2008 and Chinese all over the world will celebrate the Chinese New Year of the Rat.
The current year of the Fire Pig will be replaced by the Earth Rat which is the next sign in the Chinese 12 Animal Zodiac or more accurately the Sixty ‘Jia Zi’ astrological cycles.
The new year signal a change in the ‘qi’ that affects us. Knowing what these changes are allows us to make better use of our home and office premise and maximize our Feng Shui luck in 2008.
This year (Feng Shui 2008), the inauspicious energies of Five Yellow and Three Killings reside in the south. Five Yellow is associated with major illness and obstacles while Three Killing comprise of the triple combo of year, disaster and robbery sha. In addition to obstacles, Three Killing is also associated with accidents and losses (financial included).
Therefore it makes sense to stay away from the south sector. If you bedroom, study or office is in the south sector, you should ideally move to another sector (preferably east or south east which I will explain in a while). If you main door is located in the south and/or facing south, you should use another entrance if available.
If you cannot relocate to another room or you do not have an alternative entrance then you should place metal items such as wind chimes or a copper vases or metal coins in the south sector to counter the effect of Five Yellow. Try your best not to disturb the area and remove any activators such as moving water feature, fan etc that could fan the energy and make the situation worse.
To counter the triple effects of Three Killings, you should place a plant together with water in the south sector e.g. money plant in water. If you have space outside the house in the south sector you can also plant a tree to soften the effect of Three Killings.
You should also make it a point not to do any renovation work in the south sector. Tai Sui is in the north which means that its counter part Sui Po (Year Breaker) is in the South. You should also refrain from carrying out renovation work in the North and if your house is sitting south (facing north), you should refrain from carrying out any renovation at all in 2008!
Who are more likely to be affected? The south is associated with the middle daughter, the eyes and the heart. Therefore the ladies in the house with eyes or heart problem should take extra care if they occupy the south sector.
Now that you have taken care of the danger sector, let’s look at what we can do to improve the better areas. This year the better sectors are the east and south east. The energy in the east is associated with career growth and business success while that in the south east is associated with fame and position.
You can improve you luck by using these sectors and by energizing the east especially with an activator such as an indoor fountain or aquarium.
The north is also a good sector but it is affected somewhat by Tai Sui. While on the subject of Tai Sui, please ensure that you are not facing north. Facing north is clashing the Tai Sui and not auspicious. Also place a metal kilun in the north sector and facing north to guard against the bed energy from the north.
Looking for romance or need a boost with your education? Make use of the north east as the energy of romance and learning resides there this year. Place a wooden pen (e.g. Chinese paint brush) and a glass of water in a metal container in this sector.
In addition to south which is a very bad sector, you should also take care of the other sectors that are habited with inauspicious energies in 2008. There are the south-west, west and north-west sectors. The 7 or robbery star resides in the south west. To diminish its effect, place a bucket of still water in the south west.
The argument star (3) resides in the west sector. Place a lamp or many lamps in this area.
The illness star (2) occupies the north-west. Since the north-west is associated with the father, head and lung, senior males with head and lung problems should take extra care. Place a metal Wu Lu (close lid) to reduce the effect of this star.
