Chinese New Year Calendar Dates
Chinese New Year is celebrated by Chinese all over the world on the first day of the first month of the Chinese Lunar Year. Unlike the Western New Year, it does not fall on the same day every year. Instead Chinese New Year Calendar Dates fall between January 21 and February 21.
The varying Chinese New Year Calendar dates are a result of efforts by the ancient Chinese to synchronize the Chinese Solar and Lunar calendar by adding extra months in seven (7) out of every nineteen (19) years. You can learn more about the Chinese Calendars here.
